Paul McCartney: Meat Free Monday campaign, and more

In 2006, United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization's report, Livestock’s Long Shadow, has highlighted the environmental impact of meat-eating and the importance of making more environmentally conscious food choices. Some later, in 2009, Paul, Stella and Mary McCartney have launched in the UK the Meat Free Monday campaign as simple and straightforward idea to show everyone the value of eating less meat, and to make it easier for us all to do so.

Currenrly, this simple idea has grown into an international movement
Meatless Monday that includes more than 20 countries.
Paul McCartney is also well known for his other environmental and animal rights activities.

For your information.

Food Climate Research Network suggests that food production is responsible for 20-30 percent of global green house gas emissions and livestock production is responsible for around half of these emissions.
