Join the biggest international school project on energy, climate and environment with more than 4.500 schools and 175.000 pupils participating. School Project on Application of Energy and Resources (SPARE) is an international school project that has been run by the Norwegian Society for the Conservation of Nature since 1996.  Through project pupils learn how to use energy and resources efficiently. Active SPARE schools conduct education on sustainable use of energy and resources, implement practical measures on energy efficiency or renewable energy, and finally inform the neighbourhood about their achievements. |

On December 24, 2009, the UN General Assembly has adopted the Resolution agreeing to hold the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in 2012, UNCSD 2012, also referred as Rio+20.  The Conference seeks three objectives: securing renewed political commitment to sustainable development, assessing the progress and implementation gaps in meeting already agreed commitments, with addressing new and emerging challenges. The Member States have agreed on the following two themes for the Conference: green economy within the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication, as well as institutional framework for sustainable development. |
