 Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak has joined the Environment
Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD) in May 2010. As Secretary General, she leads an organization responsible for championing environmental sustainability, conserving Abu Dhabi’s biodiversity and protecting groundwater. Razan is also the Managing Director of Emirates Wildlife Society (EWS-WWF) since its inception in 2001 and Mohamed Bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund.  |
 Angela Merkel, the current Chancellor of Germany, has served as Federal Minister for
the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety 1994–1998 in Helmut Kohl's 4th and 5th Cabinets. Germany, under her leadership, now leads the world in turning away from coal and oil, setting the highest targets for renewables and emission cuts. In 2008, Guardian has nominated Angela Merkel as one of the 50 green heroes who could save the planet. |
