Mathis Wackernagel is co-creator , together with Professor William Rees, of the Ecological Footprint concept and has worked on
sustainability issues for government agencies, NGOs and businesses on
all continents. Mathis previously served as the director of the
Sustainability Program at Redefining Progress in Oakland, California, ran the Centro de Estudios para la Sustentabilidad in Xalapa,
Mexico, and more. Currently, Mathis Wackernagel is President of the Global Footprint Network, the world leading organization that develops and uses footprint tools.
